Apply using the Applicant Portal

The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal. There, you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and you can also request your references.

An application is only complete when:

  1. you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
  2. you have paid the application fee if applicable. For further information on application fees, and which courses require an application fee, see here.
  3. your referees have provided their references.

If you miss the deadlines specified in this section, you will not be able to submit your application.

All successful applicants will be allocated to work on a specific industry-supported project. You are therefore strongly encouraged to examine the list of currently available on the CDT website; this list will be updated either until all places have been filled, or until the application deadline, whichever is earlier. You are then encouraged to state your most favoured project title and supervisor on the application form. Applicants who apply without stating a project or supervisor will still be considered, but the issuing of an offer will be dependent on the applicant being allocated to a project (which may or may not have been on the advertised list at the time of application).

In all cases, shortlisted applicants will be invited to a panel interview with the CDT management and relevant industry partners(s).

You should also be aware of the CDT's . Successful applicants to the Industry+ scheme will spend a year employed by an industry partner prior to starting the MRes. Before submitting your application to °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï, students who wish to apply for the Industry+ scheme should contact the CDT for information on how to proceed.

Selection Process

Applications will be considered in batches after the deadline for . Applications received before the Postgraduate Funding Competition deadline will be reviewed and put forward for funding consideration in January, with an expected outcome in April or May. Otherwise, the course team aims to shortlist, interview and provide a decision within 6 weeks of each project deadline. Strong applicants who do not specify a project may experience a long delay in receiving a final outcome as the course team seeks to match them with an appropriate industry-supported project.

Note that it is possible that all places will be filled before the final application deadline. If this occurs, the course entry in the online prospectus will be labelled as "closed".
