Teaching

The MPhil involves research only and teaching is delivered through meetings with an academic supervisor. 

One to one supervision

Each student identifies a research supervisor prior to making an application. The MPhil project is developed in correspondence with the supervisor. At the outset of the MPhil course the student and supervisor arrange a schedule of meetings.

The °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï publishes an annual  which sets out the University’s expectations regarding supervision.

Seminars & classes

There are no formal teaching sessions attached to this MPhil, though as necessary the student will be encouraged to participate in methods training through classes at the °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï's Social Science Research Methods Programme (SSRMP). 

Posters and Presentations

Thesis presentation in the third term.

Feedback

The research supervisor provides feedback at supervisions and also in written termly reports.

Assessment

Thesis / Dissertation

A thesis of up to 25,000 words and a viva voce examination.

Other

One 5,000-word research proposal will be submitted at the end of the first term which will be informally assessed.
