Applications submitted prior to the funding deadline will automatically be entered into the °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï University Postgraduate Funding competition.  

Departmental Scholarships

A limited number of departmental scholarships are awarded by the Department of Public Health and Primary Care  for selected students.  These scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the MPhil course admissions committee to cover a portion of the tuition fees.   All applicants will automatically be considered for these scholarships.

The Lucy Cavendish – Trinity Global Health Studentship

This year Lucy Cavendish College and Trinity College are each offering an annual scholarship of £30,000 to support MPhil Population Health Sciences’ students.
All applicants who select Lucy Cavendish College or Trinity College as their first choice college will automatically be considered for each award. Each college is offering a separate award. The studentship is to cover tuition fees and maintenance fees for Home students and can cover the majority of tuition fees for Overseas students. MPhil PHS applicants who select either the Global Health or Infectious Diseases themes are eligible for these awards.

Laptop requirements

Students are required to bring their own laptops for use throughout the course, with either of the following specifications or equivalent:

  • IBM compatible laptop with Intel Core i5 Comet Lake or newer processor (students planning to follow the HDS theme may wish to consider an i7 processor), with an x86-64 version of Windows 11 or Windows 10 (ideally Pro versions) or an up to date x86-64 Linux distribution (ideally Ubuntu x86-64) installed;  or
  • MacBook Pro or MacBook Air model, dated 2019 or later with macOS Ventura  or later installed.
     
  • 8GB of RAM (16GB of RAM recommended for HDS) 
  • Disk capacity of 512GB or more 
  • Built-in gigabit ethernet port or supported ethernet adapter
  • Built in wireless network controller or supported wireless network adapter
  • Built in web cam, microphone and speakers or supported external devices
