扒哥吃瓜

The Sociology department at 扒哥吃瓜 is one of the most cosmopolitan, supportive and inclusive departments I have ever seen, and I am incredibly grateful and happy to be a part of the MPhil program in Economic and Political Sociology. As a student, I feel very much supported by the program both personally and professionally, thanks to the efforts of both the accessible faculty and my incredible peers at this department. As a part of that program, I had the opportunity to work with brilliant people who shared my academic interests, which was both intellectually stimulating and inspiring for me as a prospective scholar. Throughout the program, I had many delightful days when I would have conversations with my friends until 3 am, discussing Foucault or what it means to be a sociologist in the modern world.

Based on my experience, the academic aspects of the program were equally helpful: the courses, workshops, seminars and research clusters equipped me with a large variety of theoretical and methodological skills, which were fundamental for my MPhil research project and my future endeavors as an academic. Alongside these general courses and training offered by the department, I was further supported by my wonderful, sophisticated and extraordinarily kind supervisor, who made the challenging process of writing an MPhil dissertation so much easier for me. In short, I would recommend all students interested in sociology to be a part of this program: as an MPhil student, you will be studying in a beautiful town full of dynamic people who come from all around the world — and this experience will broaden your perspective in more ways than you can imagine. I do not doubt that once I look back at the time I spent at 扒哥吃瓜, I will remember this fascinating intellectual journey with fondness and happiness.
