Expected Academic Standard
Applicants for this course should have achieved a UK High II.i Honours Degree.
If your degree is not from the UK, please check International Qualifications to find the equivalent in your country.
Please be aware that this is the minimum criterion for academic results and that attaining the minimum does not guarantee admission to the programme. Admissions are fiercely competitive and applicants who simply meet the minimum academic standard are often not accepted onto the MPhil. Higher conditions may be set in some cases.
Students are expected to enter the MPhil in Archaeology from a range of backgrounds:
- From undergraduate degrees in archaeology at the °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï or similar UK institutions
- From archaeology backgrounds at overseas universities
- From a wide range of cognate fields such as classics, history, geology, or anthropology, with varying amounts of archaeological background
- From practical, often professional backgrounds in field archaeology, museums, or other related activities
